Nigerian Police Department’s Duty
The Nigerian Police are the ones responsible for the safety and order of all the states in Nigeria. The NPF is composed of several departments focusing on different field but working as one unit. Each of them has different functionalities but with the same goal and that is to protect both the citizens and the country as well.
Different Departments of the Nigerian Police:
This department of the Nigerian Police is involved in the general administration of Nigerian Police Force as well as finance. This department also has the duty to improve public relations, build up the Force’s image, information dissemination and communication with the citizens whom they need to protect.
They are responsible for all the operational activities with the focus on preventing crimes, terrorism and maintaining the order and laws in Nigeria. They are the one who plans security measure in the country. They are also the ones formulation operation to lessen and prevent crimes.
This department is a combination of both technical and administrative issues of the Nigerian Police.
This is the highest investigating body of the Nigerian Police. They are responsible for prosecuting, investigating and solving criminal cases that are very complex outside and within the borders of Nigeria.
All the activities and trainings needed by the force is coordinated by this certain department. They are also responsible for recruiting new of new staff and officers. They also evaluate and maintain the retraining and training of the people working on the Force. With the help of this department, the citizens of the country could be assured that the people in the Force can definitely do their duties properly and was specifically trained for their core duties in the Force.
The responsibility of this department is conducting, monitoring and assessing research, evaluations and assistance to support practices regarding public safety. They are responsible in researching and discovering issues within the Force and provide ways to ensure that the policing service is uniform in the country.
This department of the Nigerian Police uses technology as a resource to managing communication systems and databases in order to improve the efficiency of the agency. This department is also has a Fingerprint Identification System as well as Tracking and Intercepting Devices that would be very helpful in solving various crimes.
These departments are also divided in several sections so that the forces can focus on their core function and expertise. These sections provide more order in the entire force. High-ranking officials who are fitting for the job head these departments and sections.
