Reno Omokri issues warning to 2019 presidential election aspirants

- There are fears that opposition politicians might be clamped down by the government of the day ahead of the 2019 elections

- The alleged intimidation of businesses owned by Alhaji Atiku Abubakar had sparked rumours of government's high handedness

- Ex-presidential aide, Pastor Reno Omokri, raises alarm on the issue

Former presidential aide, Pastor Reno Omokri, has issued a warning to intending politicians who want to contest the 2019 presidential election.

Omokri's warning comes after the Nigerian media was awash recently with stories that the federal government had terminated the boats pilotage monitoring and supervision agreement that the Nigerian Ports Authority had with Intels Nigeria Limited.

Intels, Nigeria's biggest oil and gas logistics firm is owned by former vice president, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar.

The Federal Inland Revenue Service had also allegedly closed down the company accusing them of defaulting in tax payments.

The former vice president has never hidden his ambition to return to the corridors of power and had began subtle campaigns ahead of the 2019 general elections.

Many see the move of the federal government as a ploy to cripple the financial war chest of the former vice president ahead of the polls.

Omokri wrote on his Facebook page: “FIRS seals of Atiku's intels. This after their contract was unilaterally and suddenly canceled by NPA.

“Note to intending 2019 contestants, your business will be considered fair game if you choose to run against President Muhammadu Buhari! And if you are an aide to such a person, look out for the armed wing of the All Progressives Congress also known as EFCC!”

Also speaking on the economic policies of the present administration, Omokri accused the government of borrowing more money than the previous administration without nothing to show for it.

“In 2 years, Buhari has borrowed more than Jonathan borrowed in 5 years, yet Naira collapsed, no infrastructure and workers are still owed salaries!

“Yet this same man sends soldiers to do operations all over the South and sends the World Bank to do projects all over the North,” Omokri wrote.

In a related development, a chieftain of the APC, Comrade Timi Frank, has frowned at the recent actions by two federal government agencies - the FIRS and the NPA.

In a statement sent to Legit.ng on Monday, October 16, Comrade Frank berated the agencies for offering themselves as willing tools to frustrate the private business interests of Alhaji Atiku Abubakar.
