BREAKING: Governors speak after meeting with President Buhari

- President Buhari met with seven governors in London

- The governors said the president was in good spirit

- According to one of the governor's, the president's illness had taken a toll on him

Some governors who met with President Muhammadu Buhari in London have described him as being in good state of health.

The president received the governors on Wednesday, July 26, in London.

They were led by Governor AbdulAziz Yari of Zamfara who is also the chairman of the Nigeria Governors Forum.

There has been concern about the true state of health of President Buhari.

According to Sahara Reporters, the president was in good health but did not give a date as to when he would return to Nigeria.

Sahara Reporters added that one of the governors who spoke on the condition of anonymity said President Buhari's illness had taken a toll on him.

“Yes, the illness had a taken a toll on his health”

“I did not notice any remarkable change in his voice."

He said he hoped the president would follow the advice of his doctors and not rush back to the country.

“After all, he has left the country in a very capable hand, fiercely loyal, competent, cerebral and unambitious."

Legit.ng had reported that seven governors who left Nigeria on Tuesday, July 25 have met with President Buhari who was visibly in high spirit as he received them on Wednesday, July 26.

The governors were selected to represent the six geo-political zones in the country and were led by the chairman of the Nigeria Governors Forum, Governor AbdulAziz Yari of Zamfara.

There has been concern about the health status of the president since he left the country more than 60 days for medical treatment in the UK.

The other governors present are:

1. Dave Umahi (Ebonyi)

2. Umar Ganduje (Kano)

3. Kashim Shettima (Borno)

4. Samuel Ortom (Benue)

5. Udom Emmanuel (Akwa Ibom)

6. Abiola Ajimobi (Oyo)
