Borno enjoys peaceful Sallah after military stops bomber
The governor of Borno state, Kashim Shetima has announced that the northeast state enjoyed peaceful Sallah celebrations across the length and breadth of the state just hours after Nigeria Army killed a female suicide bomber in Dikwa.
In a statement posted to Facebook on Monday, September 12, special assistant to the governor, Yusuf Usman Shettima, reported that all was well in the state which has been at the centre of Boko Haram attacks for several years.
The statement read: “Borno state Governor Hon. Kashim Shettima has joined thousands of resettled IDPs at Konduga Eid ground in Konduga town.

“The Governor who was accompanied by the Sen. Abubakar Kyari, Sen. Babakaka Bashir Garbai and the speaker of the Borno state House of Assembly Hon. Abdulkarim Lawan was received by the Chairman of local government, Alhaji Audu Ladan.
“The two raka'at prayer was led by the Imam Eidaini of Konduga Imam Goni Lawan and thereafter prayers were offered for state and the country.

“Meanwhile, security reports has shown that Sallah has been conduct under peaceful atmosphere in Maiduguri and other parts of the state except for a female suicide bomber intercepted at the outskirt Maiduguri.”
