81 Suspected Kidnappers Arrested In Delta

Delta State Police Command says it has arrested 81 suspected kidnappers in the state in the past two months.

Police Commissioner Ikechukwu Aduba disclosed this yesterday in Asaba whille paraded 10 suspected kidnappers and armed robbers.

“In all, six English raffles, three pistols, 17 locally made guns, 1018 ammunitions and 57 cartridges were recovered from them within the period, he said.

According to him, four suspected kidnappers who used to operate between the state and the neighboring Anambra state and who kidnapped Mrs. Kate Onianwa in Ibusa and Stella Emoliaze at Ogwashi-Uku is among the paraded suspects.

“Other suspected kidnappers are Killy Okorara, Jabin Umemu, Augustine Umukoro, Edafe Tega and Shedrack Efeurobo – who operated in Ughelli/Warri axis of the State were also paraded. The gang members confessed to the crime and named a serving army corporal and one Mamus now at large as those supplying them arms,” he said.
