Flood Ravages Gombe Village

Flood caused by heavy downpour has sacked Wuro Tula village in Akko Local Government Area of Gombe State. Our correspondent gathered that the downpour which began late Monday night lasted for about five hours.

A resident of the village, Mallam Saminu Ashiru, who spoke to newsmen, said the flood washed away homes and destroyed farmlands and property worth millions of naira.

He attributed the flood to blocked drainages. The member representing the area in the state House of Assembly, Alhaji Gidado Lawanti, pledged to make a case on their behalf to the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA).
