Reports from Maiduguri, the Borno State Capital indicate that some unidentified gunmen, suspected of being members of the dreaded Boko Haram may have shot and killed the Borno State commissioner of Justice, Barrister Zannah Mallam Gana.

Detailed reports are yet to emerge, but sources said that Barrister Gana, a close ally of the State Governor, Kashim Shettima was killed by suspected members of Boko Haram sect during a visit to Bama, a major town in the state which also houses the jail where several opponents of government, including late Gani Fawahenmi were once incarcerated.
