5000 Candidates Seek Admission Into North-West Varsity

About 5000 applicants have so far applied for admission into the newly established North-west University, Kano. Chairman of the university implementation committee, Prof. Hafiz. Abubakar, disclosed this while presenting its progress report to Governor Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso on Tuesday.

He said 4,796 have already received registration codes, and that arrangements have been concluded for the conduct of the post UME screening examination. The chairman added that arrangements are also on for the recruitment of staff.

Professor Hafiz further stated that the NUC resource team has visited the university to ascertain the level of progress at its permanent site. Responding, Governor Rabi’u Musa Kwakwaso, expressed delight with the interest shown by the students and promised to do his best to ensure that the university commences activities.
