Gov Ambode's account director, son regain freedom

- Lagos state police spokesperson confirms release of father and son

- Refuses to reveal whether or not a ransome was paid to effect the freedom of the pair

- Sources however, revealed the amount that was likely paid to ensure the safety of the man and his son

Thomas Otuyemi, 60, the director of account working in the office of Governor Akinwunmi Ambode of Lagos state, who was recently kidnapped with his son, has been released.

This much was disclosed by the Lagos state police command after securing the safety of Otuyemi, who was kidnapped last Saturday with his son in Epe by unidentified gunmen.

The police image maker, Dolapo Badmos, who confirmed the recent success to NAIJ.com this evening, explained that Otuyemi and his son were rescued by the police on Tuesday morning.

She said they were rescued by the police at Isheri Oshun area of Berger, adding that the duo have since been reunited with their family.

Badmos did not disclose if ransom was paid to the kidnappers, saying she was unconcern about that.

But an unconfirmed source said the kidnappers had demanded for N500 million to secure Otuyemi and his son’s release, but that it was likely that about N150 million ransom was paid to secure their freedom.
