- The youth wing of the Ohanaeze has rejected Uche Ogah
- Ogah as recently reappointed as governor of Abia state
- The group accused INEC of compromise in favoring Ogah
The youth wing of the Ohanaeze Ndigbo has accused Dr Sampson Uche Ogah of being hungry for power as he tussles for the governorship of Abia state with Okezie Ikpeazu.
A Federal High Court in Abuja recently sacked Ikpeazu and appointed Ogah as the governor of Abia state but the Ohaneze have rejected this.
At a press conference it held at Abuja on Monday, the youth wing of the group noted that Ogah was fronting for some elements who were opposed to Igbo political interest.
The group also vowed to checkmate his antics and changes.
The press conference was jointly addressed by Mazi Obinna Achuonye, the National Vice Chairman of the body in Imo State, Dr Kingsley
Chiedozie, the Deputy National treasurer of the body and Barrister Chika Nzelu, a stakeholder of the organisation.
The group said: "Dr Ogah, who is not even from Abia State, has an agenda to implant the views and antics of the oligarchy in Igbo land and Abia state.”
"We condemn in most strong terms this recent strange judgement of the court; it is purely an agenda meant to spite Ndigbo and enthrone confusion in Abia State.
"We are calling on the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, the EFCC and the National Judicial Commission to thoroughly investigate the judgment with a view to sanctioning the judge", they further stated.
The group also suggested that the manner in which Ogah was issued his certificate of return by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) shows they have been compromised.
The group thanked the Attorney General of the federation and Minister of Justice for declaring that the court should be allowed to determine the direction of the case.
