Following discoveries by the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) of some fraudsters who parade themselves as Officers of the Corps requesting members of the public to send recharge cards to them supposedly to be used to assist victims of road crash has stated that no officer of the Corps does such thing as modalities to attend to road crash victims have been properly provided for by the Commission.

This as contained in a statement made available to LEADERSHIP yesterday calling on the general public saying that; “They should desist from granting such requests from fraudsters for recharge cards under the guise of assisting victims of road crashes”.

In addition, the Commission said “this measure is coming on the heels of complaints from some Nigerians who have been receiving and falling prey to inundated phone calls and requests for recharge cards from faceless people posing as staff of the FRSC  under the guise of rendering assistance to road crash victims,

According to the Corps Public Education Officer, Corps Commander Jonas Agwu; “perpetrators of this heinous crime who have been operating under different identities and from varying locations, are out to swindle unsuspecting Nigerians with distress calls to send recharge cards to enable them(fraudsters) facilitate medical treatment for their (victim’s) relations who were involved in a road crash.
