Flying Eagles coach John Obuh has declared that his team will be ready to confront South Africa in a CAF U-20 African Championship qualifier scheduled to hold on September 22.
Speaking from the team’s Ilorin camp, the former Eaglets coach said 26 players are in camp preparing for the first leg encounter.
“We are in camp and the players are doing their best to prepare for the game because it is a match we must win and we will do our best to achieve that,” says Obuh.
“We are also doing our best to make sure that the mistake we made the other time we played Tanzania are not repeated when we play South Africa on September 22.”
Obuh who also took his time to watch the South African U-20 team against Botswana a friendly game played on Tuesday said the match has helped him to understand the South Africans better.
“We are trying to monitor South Africa so that we can know what to expect from them but the truth is that we are not going to underrate any team,” he added.
He also told Complete Sports that he has no plan of changing the players he has been working with since the commencement of the qualifying series.
The CAF U-20 African Champions will hold in Algeria next year.
