Falconets forward, Francesca Ordega, has denied claims by Swedish club Jitex FC that she is signed to them.
The 19-year-old Rivers Angels forward, who has scored four goals at the ongoing FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup, described the claims as false, saying, "I have been inundated with calls and mails from friends, club mates and relatives back home in Nigeria congratulating me for what I do not know anything about."
"It is even more worrisome when there has been no contact... with the so-called club in the past or now. I am extremely sad to hear this," she said.
The club, which claims to have an agreement with a Summer Football Centre in Nigeria, said Ordega would be the first player from Nigeria to be signed to the club.
Ordega is expected to play a key role in Saturday's third place match against hosts of the U-20 Women's World Cup, Japan.
