Indications have emerged that the Nigeria Customs may have embarked on a major shake-up in its state commands nationwide.
Already, many of the area comptrollers of the various state commands of the service have been transferred to new duty posts.
While many of the area comptrollers have swapped state commands, others were transferred to the NCS headquarters in Abuja to head some units of the service.
The shake-up, our correspondent gathered, has also affected many other officers, especially those in the rank of deputy comptrollers.
Indications emerged that the salaries of the NCS personnel may be increased next year.
The immediate past area comptroller of the Ogun State Command of the NCS, Deputy Comptroller Bamidele Akande, confirmed this development while addressing the officers and men of the command after a parade held in his honour at the Customs Sentry, Idiroko, Ogun State, on Wednesday.
Akande, who also handed over the reins of the command to the new Area Comptroller, Mr. Ade Dosunmu during the event, stated that his transfer and that of the other high-ranking officers out of Ogun State was part of an ongoing nationwide exercise in the NCS.
