The Defence Headquarters warned Nigerians that members of the Boko Haram sect have devised new tactics towards perpetuating their bloody activities

According to a statement made by Brigadier General Rabe Abubakar, the acting director of defence information, on Friday, March 18, female suicide bombers now dress like men to deceive security agencies.

“In continuation with the sensitization of our citizens on the devilish strategy of the terrorists, the Nigerian military authorities have discovered that Boko Haram terrorists are determined to continue letting off bombs and have resorted to hiding their true sex identity.

“Female bombers now dress in men attire to have access to mosque unhindered to detonate their bombs.

“The latest suicide attack in the mosque at Molai Umurari village in Borno state is instructive in this regard,” the statement read in part.

The military advised the public to be wary of suspicious persons, irrespective of sex at markets, worship places and any public entertainment centers.

It also called on local vigilante and community to device more proactive measures to curtail bloody attacks of the insurgents.

“Having been effectively dislodged and decimated, the splinter cells of the remnant Boko Haram terror group still engage in some systematic isolated attacks, mainly on soft targets in their desperation to remain relevant.

“The Defence Headquarters hereby advises the general public to constantly be on alert to this latest terrorist tactics and to report promptly any suspicious persons or objects to the nearest security agency.”

Earlier this year, the Defence Headquarters warned Nigerians that the insurgents hide explosive devices in fruits and vegetables which they hawk in carts and wheelbarrows in markets and crowded places.

According to the military, the aim of the militants is to disguise as fruits and vegetable vendors to gain ample room to detonate the explosives.
