Igbos have solution to Nigeria’s economic woes - Victor Oye

Chief Victor Oye, the national chairman of APGA, says only the Igbos have what it takes to resolve Nigeria’s economic and political woes.

Oye blamed past leadership of the party for not making the party to stand on its own during major elections.

He said: “APGA is a global party with 35 branches abroad; we are recording unprecedented successes because the party has been handed over to God from whom all power and authority derive.

“We have the people. We have what it takes to provide leadership for Nigeria; APGA will no longer go into alliance with any other party; we shall field our own presidential candidate in the next general elections.

“Nigeria must allow an Igbo man to become the president for it to come out of the doldrums, because Igbos by their nature, are not vindictive, not petty and very enterprising.

“Igbos are major sustainers of the nation’s economy through their many investments spread across Nigeria; the sacrifice of our forebears made this nation what it is.

“And, APGA is the platform that will give Nigeria the opportunity of Igbo ingenuity in leadership.”

Oye also used the occasion to announce that Chief Okwudili Ezenwokonkwo was leader of the party in Orumba North.

He described Ezenwaokonkwo as a committed party man, who had helped to build the party and urged him to continue to ensure unity and progress in the party in the council.

On his part, Ezenwaokonkwo, who is the acting chairman of Amalgamated Traders Association in the Southeast, promised to carry everybody along in his constituency.

He said that he would use his office to better the fortunes of the party and support the government of APGA at any level.

Meanwhile, Oye has said that before an Igbo man can emerge as president of Nigeria, Ndigbo must learn to put their acts together.

Oye added that APGA remains the only hope for the political emancipation of Ndigbo in Nigeria.
