History! Rivers United to fly for away matches

- Rivers United will travel by air for their away matches 

- United confirmed air travel for the 2015/2016 season

- The club is a merger of Dolphins and Sharks (both of Port-Harcourt) 

A Nigerian Premier League side will for the first time in history be travelling to all their away matches by air.

Rivers Utd announced on Friday that its players would no longer be travelling by road when they have away matches but rather by air.

The team's media officer Sammy Wejinya, told Legit.ng that there are many more things that will be happening within the club.

He said: "We will be travelling by air for away matches. We know other teams have travelled by air before but this will be the first time that a team would be constantly travelling by air for a full season.

"Our team of marketers are also working on some other things, I cannot say not because they have not been confirmed."
