IT was excitement galore last Wednesday at the Heineken Champions Planet, where five lucky football fans won an all-expense paid trip to the Allianz Arena Stadium, Germany, to watch the UEFA Champions League final courtesy of Heineken lager beer.
With emotions at boiling point at the end of the first stanza of the Chelsea versus Benfica match at the Stamford Bridge, as well as the Santiago Bernabue game between Real Madrid and APOEL of Cyrus, guests and consumers at the planet witnessed the draw for the winners.
The ceremony was conducted by the Sales Director, Nigerian Breweries Plc, Hubert Eze, who picked the first two lucky winners, Adewole Abiodun and Caleb Richards, both from Lagos.
Popular Nollywood actor, Desmond Elliot, former international footballer, Victor Ikpeba, and the Senior Brand Manager, Heineken, Jacqueline van Faassen, took their turns to pick from the lucky dip bags, which produced Patrick Nnaemaka from Onitsha, Fomsi Samuel from Port Harcourt and Busari J. Adiktat from Lagos.
The five lucky Nigerians will be part of the week-long Heineken programme that will climax with the final match at the 75, 000-capacity Allianz Arena in Munich next month. At the end of the draw, Eze commended all the consumers for being part of another successful programme and urged all participants to see themselves as worthy champions.
One of the winners, Abiodun, who happened to be present at the draw, was so elated that he declared: “If it is a dream, please don’t disturb my sleep. I think I should count myself to be extremely lucky to have won an ainvite to this premium viewing experience at the Heineken Champions Planet and here I am again winning the opportunity to be among lucky football crowd out there at the stadium in Germany.”
