Bashir Dalhatu Loses Son

Mohammed Dalhatu, 35-year old son of former minister of power and steel Alhaji Bashir Dalhatu, died in a road accident yesterday. He was on his way to Abuja from Akwa Ibom State after an event.

The deceased’s uncle, Alhaji Faruk Dalhatu, confirmed Mohammed’s death, saying he would be 35 years by December this year but for his untimely demise.

Faruk, managing director of Freedom Radio, Kano, said he could not explain how the accident happened as he was yet be briefed on how Mohammed died in it, saying however that the accident occurred in Imo State.

At the time he was speaking to our correspondent around 6:30 pm yesterday, Faruk was at Malam Aminu Kano International Airport, Kano alongside other members of the Dalhatu family from Kano and Jigawa as well as a number of sympathizers awaiting the arrival of Mohammed’s body for burial in Kano.
