- Congratulatory messages are pouring in for governors of Delta, Akwa Ibom and Abia states

- The Supreme Court recently affirmed the electoral victory of the governors of the state

High Chief Government Ekpemupolo alias Tompolo), a former Niger Delta militant leader has congratulated Governors Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta , Udom Emmanuel of Akwa Ibom and Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia state for their recent victories at the Supreme Court.

In a congratulatory message published on today’s Vanguard newspaper, Tompolo asked the governors to see themselves as servant-leaders and stay away from party politics.

“Your excellencies, it is instructive to note that your triumph in this leadership battle was not by your power or might, but by the spirit of the King of Heaven and earth, who fought and wrought the victories He had ordained for you beforehand.

"He knows all the things that happened, both the ones you think you know and the ones you know not. However, He does not pervert justice, His works are truth, His ways true and judgement infallible. The evidence is what you have just seen,” he wrote.

Tompolo said the Lord who brought them thus far, will see them through.

The Supreme Court on Tuesday, February 2, upheld the victory of Governor Okowa in the April 11 governorship election.

The following day, the apex court also upheld the electoral victories of governors Ikpeazu and Udom who belong to the Peoples Democratic Party.

Reacting to the apex court judgment, the PDP Governors’ Forum said it has reinforced the belief that the judiciary remains the hope of the common man, describing the court as the saviour of democracy in the country.
