Six persons were yesterday arraigned before an Abuja High Court by the Nigeria Police, FCT Command over alleged murder and armed robbery.
Segun Adigun, Solomon Monday, Peter Iorfa, Alex Godwin and Dennis Yisa along with others said to be at large, were alleged to have on March 15 in Wuse Zone 6, Abuja robbed one Orji Aso Ikwo of his Toyota Corolla 2005 model valued at N1.8 million.
The accused persons, who were said to be carrying a locally made pistol with two rounds of ammunition, were also alleged to have dispossessed Mr Orji of N350, 000 cash, his international passport, digital camera, Samsung handset, and CAC documents.
They were also accused of robbing one Yusuf Hamis of his Nissan Commercial Murano jeep with registration number ER569AB valued at N3 million in Wuse on December 11, 2011 and sold it to Dennis from whom the vehicle was recovered.
According to the Prosecution counsel Prisca Oguamalam, the alleged offences contravene section1 (2) (a) and section 5 of the Robbery and Firearms Act, 2004.
The Police also arraigned a 22 year-old man, Ernest Victor for alleged culpable homicide. He was accused of killing one Uba Odioma, 25 in Gwarinpa, Abuja on May 5, 2012 following an argument over N22, 000 debt.
When the charges were read to them, the accused persons denied the allegations.
Both cases were subsequently adjourned to October 25 to enable the Police produce its witnesses. Meanwhile the accused persons are to be remanded to prison custody.
