Buhari Advised To Extend Anti-Corruption War To Ex-Leaders

President Muhammadu Buhari has been advised to ensure his anti-corruption war going on in the country should be across board by prosecuting every corrupt ex-political office holder who is still living.

This call came on Sunday, December 27 from Rt Rev Edafe Emamezi, the Anglican Bishop of the Western Izon Diocese in Delta state. He said this is the only thing Buhari can do to make his anti-graft war to be fruitful.

While the Anglican Bishop spoke at his residence over the weekend at the headquarters of the Western Izon Diocese in Patani, Patani local government area of the state, he emphasised the reasons while the citizens should assist the president in his anti-corruption war.

The cleric also stated that the anti-graft war should cover all the former politicians involved in all forms of corrupt practices and who are still alive.

He said: “The love of money and power are the things that are dividing Nigeria.

“Nigerians should use this occasion of celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ to be on the part of unity through forgiveness and reconstruction.”

A related anti-corruption war of a former political leader is that of the present case and revelations of Colonel Sambo Dasuki, the former National Security Adviser which has opened different cans of worms.

Rt Rev Emamezi concluded by advising the citizens to shun all forms of religious bigotry and tribal sentiments by enjoining the spirit of reconciliation to bring about a united Nigeria.
