But Jonathan in response to the calls for him to confess has faulted Sagay for acting contrary to the decorum expected of a learned scholar.

According to The Sun, the former president in a statement issued by Abubakar Sulaiman, his former minister of national planning stated that Sagay, who is the chairman of the presidential advisory committee on corruption, as a respected learned scholar ought to know that you “don’t hang a suspect on the pages of newspaper or via social media until he or she is found guilty by a court of competent jurisdiction".

Still on corruption probe, a senior advocate of Nigeria and Lagos based human right lawyer, Femi Falana has also mandated the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to commence investigation into the alleged diversion of $500 million of the $4 billion recovered from the family of the late military head of state, General Sani Abacha.

In a letter addressed to the chairman of the EFCC, Ibrahim Magu, on Friday, December 18, Falana charged the commission to confirm the actual amount of money and properties recovered from the loot.
