The police in Benue State recovered over 100 guns from hoodlums at various parts of the state between February and August this year.
Spokesman of the command, DSP. Daniel Ezeala, said the recovery was made possible following intelligent strategies adopted by the police to clamp down on those harbouring such weapons. Ezeala added that the state within the period under review was peaceful despite pockets of criminal activities that were promptly tackled by the police and other security agencies.
He advised members of the public to avail useful information to the police to enable them improve on the security situation. In addition, the spokesman urged residents in the state to dispel any rumour about the Boko haram sect, saying security has been tightened against possible attack.
