Osun Trains 8,000 Students On Calisthenics

The Osun State government yesterday said it has concluded the training of 8,000 students drawn from schools across the state on calisthenics.

The Director, Bureau of Communications and Strategy in the office of the Governor, Semiu Okanlawon, told Daily Trust that Governor Rauf Aregbesola will officially inaugurate the 8,000 students as part of activities marking the 21st anniversary of the state.

Okanlawon said the inauguration which come up tomorrow at the Osogbo Township Stadium will crown weeks of intensive training aimed at producing a new generation of calisthenics experts.

Okanlawon said the programme was conceived by Aregbesola not only as an out-of-school activity, but also a life-style changing project to enhance the emergence of a new generation of students who are physically fit, mentally sound and socially responsible and well-adjusted.
