Buhari Reacts To Kano Attack

Muhammadu Buhari reacted to the Kano bomb blast, asking for increased vigilance among the citizens to assist to stop suicide terror attacks on soft targets around Nigeria.

Garba Shehu, presidential media aide, has issued a statement in Abuja on November 18, Wednesday.

President Buhari criticized in strongest terms the wild suicide terrorist attacks that occurred in Kano today, causing many deaths and wounds among residents.

The leader of the nation extends his sincere condolences to the families of the Boko Haram victims as well as to the government and people of Adamawa and Kano states correspondingly.

He gave the assurance to Nigerians that his government is very much determined to crush the Boko Haram in the country and bring all perpetrators of these atrocious crime against humanity to justice.

Buhari advised all Nigerians not to despair in the face of fearful terrorist onslaughts but to have sureness in the ability of Nigeria's fresh, well-equipped and well-motivated Armed Forces and security agencies to defeat Boko Haram very soon.

Meanwhile, the president believed that vigilance is a probable life saver, since security agents cannot be everywhere to discourage every planned attack.

Kano police say that two female suicide attackers have killed 13 people in a market in northern Nigeria's main city.

This is the first attack on Kano since July six, happening barely a day after a similar explosion took out the crowded park in Yola, Adamawa state, where more than 30 people were killed by a suicide bomber in an attack blamed on Boko Haram.
