Fashola has gotten a vote of confidence from Dr Dosunmu who believe the ex-governor of Lagos will live up to expectations.

Daily Independent reports that this disclosure was made on Friday, November 13.

Dosunmu said there was no doubt that Fashola can excel at the federal level as he did in Lagos state.

He said there is nothing too big for Fashola to handle, adding that the three ministries combined are not as big as Lagos state which Fashola successfully governed for eight years.

“The president has the discretion to allocate portfolios the way he feels based on his perception of the capacity of individuals. I don’t think anything is too big for Fashola to handle.

“Here is somebody who has governed Lagos. Those three ministries put together is not bigger than Lagos. So, I don’t believe it is too big. The only thing is that he is just going to be very overstretched and I pray that he copes. It is a challenge to him and I believe he will live up to expectations,” Dosunmu said.

In further reactions to President Muhammadu Buhari’s cabinet, Dosunmu said the president has assembled a good team, adding that they have to hit the ground running as to meet the expectations of Nigerians.

He stressed that the nation will be watching to see how they can make up for the last six months already lost.

“Just like any Nigerian, our expectations are high. I believe the president has put together a good team and we hope they will be able to live up to the expectations of Nigerians.

“Definitely, our expectations are high given the fact that the economy is very bad and we believe that the team the president has put together will be able to improve the economy and move the country forward more especially in the area of infrastructure, power, solid minerals, agriculture,” Dosunmu noted.

He said: “These are areas that are supposed to be the flagship of the administration more especially now that we are witnessing serious decline in oil revenue. Agriculture and solid minerals are areas of possible diversification”.

“So, the ministers should hit the ground running given the fact that  six months has been lost and expectations are very high across the country.”

Meanwhile, Fashola has outlined five things he plans to do at the ministry of power, works and housing. He said that Nigerians will benefit largely when these plans are executed.
