Senator Akpabio Condems Agitations For Biafra
Chief Godswill Akpabio, the Senate minority leader, has condemned fresh agitation for the creation of the sovereign state of Biafra.
The former governor of Akwa Ibom state called on parents and community leaders in the southeast and south-south regions of the country to ensure that they caution and educate their wards on the negative implication of their actions.

Akpabio made this admonition while receiving members of the Akwa Ibom state House of Assembly led by its speaker, Aniekan Uko, who paid him a courtesy visit in the National Assembly in Abuja on Thursday, November 12.
The ex-governor said: “For those of us who witnessed the civil war, we should not be seen to be supporting this needless struggle because it is an ill wind that will blow no good, no matter your status or political affiliation.”
He stressed: “No matter the level of disaffection among different groups within the nation, there are better and lawful channels in which any aggrieved group or individuals can explore to get a redress instead of engaging in outright lawlessness. Let us all rise in unison to condemn any group that is bent on destroying the oneness of this country because our strength as a country lies in our unity.”

Akpabio further noted that there is a need for the entire country to be united. He said that only unity will help the nation achieve the much desired development.
He said: “Let us all shun all forms of divisiveness. President Muhammadu Buhari needs peace for sustainable development and this can only be achieved if he is focused.”
Meanwhile, the agitation for actualising Biafra might be taking a different turn, with recent fears raised over the state of health of the radio Biafra promoter, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.
