Katsina State government has picked Max Air as its official carrier of its pilgrims for this year’s hajj operations, Executive Director of the state Pilgrims’ Welfare Board Alhaji Aminu Danbaba said in Katsina yesterday.
Addressing a press conference on the preparations for this year’s hajj exercise, Danbaba said the board had also balanced the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) a total of two billion naira as final payment of hajj fares for its pilgrims.
Danbaba also said a total of 6, 000 intending pilgrims are expected to perform hajj from the state this year, saying “the board had secured accommodation for Katsina intending pilgrims and officials in Makka and Madina. We have also procured uniforms and suitcases for them”.
Registration and general screening of intending pilgrims, according to him, had been completed at local government and zonal levels respectively, saying the first pregnancy screening of female intending pligrims had also been completed.
