Jonathan Hosted By Presidential Precinct In The USA
On Monday, November 9, the former president Goodluck Jonathan arrived in the United States of America as a guest of the Presidential Precinct in Charlottesville, Virginia.
The National Helm reports that Jonathan arrived at the institute accompanied by a delegation from the Nigerian Embassy in Washington. He was received by Francois Baird, the chairperson of the Presidential Precinct Board.
The Presidential Precinct is a global institution designed to empower the next generation of leaders. It is currently hosting Jonathan for his role in Nigeria’s smooth democratic principles, peace and people-oriented governance.
At the Presidential Precinct breakfast, the ex-president met Jerry Baliles, a former governor of Virginia, who described Jonathan as a ‘Hero of Democracy’.
Speaking at the event, Jonathan assured the international community that African leaders are displaying more commitment to democracy and good governance, aiming to improve the lives of people.

While in the USA, Jonathan will be also hosted by other pro-democracy institutions where he will share his experience on peaceful and transparent elections and speak about the future of Africa’s democracy.
Last month, Nigeria’s former president was appointed the chairman of the Commonwealth election observer mission to monitor the elections in Tanzania.
The citizens of the country were happy that Jonathan led a 33-nation observer team and described him as “a hero of free and fair elections in Africa”.
