Wike Counts Gain Of His Administration, Says The People Are Happy

Chief Nyesom Wike has boasted of the Rivers state achievements under his less than six month old administration.

According to PM News, Wike, the standing governor of Rivers state, said on Wednesday that the his government had completed 70 kilometres of roads in its urban renewable programme.

In a chat with newsmen in Port Harcourt, the state capital on Wednesday while inspecting on-going road projects, said the completed roads were in Port Harcourt, Obio/Akpor, Eleme and Oyigbo local governments.

The former minister added that the road reconstruction programme of his administration was aimed at improving the state’s economy and that he was satisfied with the pace of road construction.

Wike said: "We are interested in infrastructural development because these roads drive the economy.

"We have engaged in the total revolution of the road infrastructure for the overall growth of the state.

"You can see the joy on the faces of the people during today’s inspection visits to industry road and Borokiri.

"You can see that the people are happy with the government for the revolution in the road infrastructure sector."

He added also that in the last two months, his administration has been busy with key projects in housing, education, environmental and agricultural sectors.

The governor, who recently had his election into power as the governor of the state ruled out by the court, also issued a warning to his counterpart in the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dakuku Peterside, insisting that he (Peterside) should forget a rerun of the 2015 gubernatorial election.
