Nnaji told Encomium Magazine that she was ready to walk down the aisle as soon as she finds the right person.

She said: “I am not bothered being single, companionship is great but the fact that I am working and I am busy keeps my mind busy. If you are busy, you would not bother about things that are not there, I will rather appreciate the ones that are there. Also, I will get married when he finds me.”

She also talked about her prolonged absence from the Nigerian movie industry.

“Yes you have not seen me in any film but it is not my doing. I read at least three to four scripts a week for the past five years. That is to show you how bad it is. I am very careful when it comes to what I take part in. There is so much or nothing you can do to convince me. I have to love a story so that I can bring it to life because a story needs to entice, the character needs to be appealing and then, you are one with it. With that, it becomes very easy to be a good actor.”

On why she decided to produce her own movie, she said: “I chose to be an actress. Acting was what I had always wanted to do. I don’t think that I ever imagined myself producing a film. I love acting. If the Nigerian movie industry was as stable as it should be, I probably would have been on the set of a movie every day of my life and not be bothered about what goes on behind the camera. So it is a matter of choice and preference.”

Nnaji's movie Road to Yesterday, directed by Ishaya Bako, will be screened at this year’s edition of the Africa International Film Festival (AFRIFF), which runs from Sunday, November 8 to Sunday, November 15, at City Mall, Silverbird and Genesis Deluxe Cinemas.
