Chairman, Senate Committee on Petroleum, Senator Magnus Abe has said that members of the public will be given an opportunity to contribute to the debate on the Petroleum Industry Bill (PIB).
Abe stated this yesterday an interactive forum organized by the Federated Correspondents Chapel of the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ) in Port Harcourt.
“I want to use this opportunity to assure all Nigerians that anyone who has something to contribute to the PIB would be given an opportunity to do so because it will be an open process.
"Let me also say that the PIB is such an important law. Nigeria relies much on hydro carbon resources for its survival. So, any legislation that will substantially relate to how we use our hydro carbon reserves will be thoroughly scrutinised,” he said.
