Boko Haram To Use Ipad, Iphones As Bombs - Arase

The Nigerian police has raised an alarm over a new tactic which the depraved Islamist sect- Boko Haram is set to apply in their bid to wreck more havoc on the nation.

Inspector General of Police, Solomon Arase, said the jihadist sect- Boko Haram has started using sophisticated gadgets to make bombs.

Nigeria's police chief, Solomon Arase, made the warning while making an announcement regarding five suspects who were arraigned at an Abuja High Court on Thursday, October 22.

The suspects were put on trial in connection withe the twin bombings in Nigeria's capital on Friday, October 2, an attack which led to the death of 15 people.

Arase in his statement said: "The suspects were arrested in Abuja with dangerous bombing tools including high-tech gadgets."

He warned that: "Boko Haram extremists are building bombs in iPads and cellphones and leaving them for people to pick up."

Associate press reports that the inspector general of police warned Nigerians not to be tempted into picking-up abandoned iPads, iPhones or laptops "as terrorists now use these items in manufacturing bombs."

In recent time, the extremists which are based majorly in the Northeastern part of Nigeria have been using kidnapped victims strapped with explosives for suicide bombings.

These suicide bombers have killed hundreds in recent months with attacks spreading into neighboring countries like Chad and Cameroon.

In the same vein, one of the five suspects arraigned at the Federal High Court today October 22 has pleaded guilty to playing a role in the multiple bomb explosions in Nyanya and Kuje areas of Abuja.
