Jigawa To Spend N2.3bn On Streetlights

The Jigawa State government will spend N2.3 billion to provide streetlights in 14 towns across the state. This was disclosed to newsmen at the end of the state executive council meeting yesterday by Commissioner for Information, Youths and Culture Alhaji Babandi Ibrahim Gumel. He said towns that will benefit from the streetlights projects are Gagarawa, Gantsa, Guri Gwiwa, Jahun, Sule Tankarkar, Taura and Birniwa. They also include Hadejia, Gumel, Kazaure, Miga, Ringim and Birnin Kudu, he said.

The commissioner also said over N1.8 billion has been earmarked for the purchase and installations of furniture in the phase II of the State Secretariat while N192 million has been approved for College of Agriculture, Hadejia for the provision of Information Communication Technology (ICT) Centre, hostels and other facilities in the collage.
