Nigerian Arrested In Vietnam For Defiling 15-Year Old

A 35-year-old Nigerian man was arrested by police in Binh Duong province in southern Vietnam on Tuesday, October 6, for allegedly having sex with a minor.

According to Thanh Nien Daily, Ewuzie Emeka Emmanuel asked a 15-year-old Vietnamese girl in his neighborhood to come into his room on Saturday, October 3, there he flirted with her and asked for her phone number.

Investigations reveal that Ewuzie texted her later that day, asking her to come to his room, where he had sex with her.

The case was reported to the police by the unnamed girl's mother when she discovered what had happened.

Under Vietnam's law, Emmanuel, who came to Vietnam in 2008 and is working for a company in the neighbouring Ho Chi Minh City, could be sentenced to 15 years in jail if found guilty.

The country's penal code stipulates this as the sentence for an adult who is caught having sex with a minor between 13 and 16 years old.

However, if the action results in pregnancy or significant health damage, the sentence can be longer.

Meanwhile, a 32-year-old Nigerian man has been jailed in the United Kingdom for sexually assaulting a woman on a train in London.

The man, Peter Fabiyi, was sentenced to a four-year prison term for pulling down his pants, bringing out his joystick, masturbating and releasing sperm on a woman.

Fabiyi pleaded guilty to all charges levelled against him.

The UK Mirror reports that British transport police arrested Fabiyi after seeing him leave Tulse Hill station where he slid under ticket barriers to avoid paying a fare.

A Blackfriars Crown court on Wednesday, September 30, handed him a 45-month prison sentence.
