A bomb explosion has been reported in Jos, the Plateau State capital.
The bomb exploded on Thursday night. It was reported to be targetted at a police post in Rikkos area of Jos North Local Government Area.
Rikkos has been a volatile area since the crisis in Plateau State started.
The Media Officer of the Special Task Force overseeing security in the state, Captain Salisu Mustapha, confirmed the incident. In a statement on Friday morning, Mustapha said: “An Improvised Explosive Device exploded between a police outpost and some residence in Layin Walin Street of Rikkos in Jos North Local Government Area. The police post, three other houses and a vehicle were affected by the blast.”
One person was confirmed injured.
