Rome - A couple were executed in a street shooting in a central area of Milan, Italian media reported on Tuesday.
Massimiliano Spelta, a 43-year-old entrepreneur with no criminal record, was approached by someone who got off a scooter and shot him on Monday.
He was walking in the Porta Romana neighbourhood, an area full of bars and restaurants with his Dominican girlfriend, Carolina Pajaro, and their 18-month-old daughter.
Pajaro, 22, was killed too as she tried to flee from the scene. Her daughter, who is in hospital recovering from light bruises was spared.
Police are still looking for a motive. “There are no hypotheses,”Milan police squad chief Alessandro Giuliano was quoted as saying by the Corriere della Sera newspaper.
