Jay Z Linked To "Whites Are Wicked, Christian God Is A Ghost" Group

United States' rapper and entrepreneur Jay Z has caused some controversy when he was photographed wearing a pendant resembling the Five-Percent Nation symbol. This U.S.-based organization teaches that white people are "wicked and inferior" to black men.

The organization also preaches that black people are the fathers and mothers of civilization, the Christian God is nothing more than a ghost, and that white men evil.

Last week, Jay Z and his wife Beyonce attended a basketball game in New York where he was spotted wearing the controversial pendant. When asked by a reporter whether the medallion — an eight-point star with the number 7 — held any meaning to him, he responded, "a little bit".

While Five-Percenters do not consider themselves being Muslims, they do borrow their name from the Nation of Islam-propagated idea that five per cent of humanity are "poor righteous teachers" trying to teach the world the truth of existence.

Despite flaunting the medallion, Jay Z is not an official member of the group. A representative of the Five-Percenters said in an interview that no one has vouched for the rapper, and it was always understood that one does not wear the regalia if they don't subscribe to the life.
