Flood Destroys 100 Homes In Kogi

Flood has destroyed over 100 houses, farms and property worth millions of naira in two communities in Yagba-East Local Government Area of Kogi State.

The flood, which followed several hours of torrential rainfall affected Idofin and Ijowa communities in the local government, rendering many residents homeless.

Daily Trust gathered that due to the flood, the people of Idofin can no longer access the health centre and markets as the road linking them to such areas has been destroyed.

Head of the management team of the local government area, Comrade Shola Adebola, confirmed that the flood rendered many residents homeless, but that no casualty was recorded. He called for the intervention of the National Emergency Management Agency and the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA).
