Okorocha To Igbos: President Buhari Needs Our Support

Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo state has urged Igbos to support the government of President Muhammadu Buhari rather than to antagonise the administration over its recent appointments.

The governor who was speaking to press men and women at the Imo state government house, opined that Ndigbos should focus on strengthening the All Progressives Congress in the South east zone ahead of the 2019 general elections.

“Appointments are the prerogative of the President and it should not be over politicized. Rather our prerogative should be how to attract projects to the Southeast. Our people should not antagonise President Buhari but come together under the APC as a national party and be in the mainstream of Nigeria politics,” Okorocha said.

The governor also denied insinuations that he was at logger heads with APC leaders in the zone saying,  “we are one big family and we are working together to achieve the party’s campaign promises.”

About a week ago, there were reports that Bola Tinubu, the national chairman of the ruling APC, had a clash with Okorocha over one of the ministerial appointments of President Buhari.
