Fresh reports have trickled in following the dismissal of Marilyn Ogar, the former spokesperson of the State Security Service (SSS).

According to Premium Times, the controversial Ogar was relieved off her duties following investigations into allegations of bribery and professional misconducts against her.

She was alleged to have received bribes from the Petroleum Products Marketing Company (PPMC) to supply lorry-loads of Dual Purpose Kerosene shortly before gubernatorial elections in Osun state.

Although there hasn’t been any official statement regarding Ogar’s dismissal but a security source confirming to Premium Times said the spokesperson was retired today seven years before she was due to leave service.

It was gathered that Lawal Daura, the new director general of the service, set up a panel headed by a retired director of training to investigate the allegations against Ogar and other staff of the agency.

Leadership reports that Ogar and 15 other senior officers as well as two directors, were sent on compulsory retirement

Ogar was later found guilty of the corruption allegation against her as well as for playing partisan role that ridiculed the agency in the eyes of the Nigerian public.

This prompted the panel to recommend she should be compulsorily retired, alongside others found guilty for professional misconducts during the last administration.
