Despite ICPC didn’t confirm the fact of on-going investigations against ex-governors officially yet, it is rumoured that the investigative teams focus on the allegations of possible corrupt practices concerning the shady tenders of contracts awarded to relatives and friends of the then-governors.

Six days ago the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has begun a probe into the administration of the former governor of Rivers state, Rotimi Amaechi.

The probe is based on a petition by a Port Harcourt-based group, the Integrity Group, which on July 29 wrote to the EFCC detailing three instances of alleged corruption, graft and abuse of office under Amaechi’s government.
