World's Tallest Man Sultan Kosen To Marry Partner Merve Dibo

Sultan Kosen, a 30-year-old Turkish farmer, is the tallest man is the world - his height is 2.51 metres. At one point, he had reportedly given up looking for a life partner, but now things are different. The giant is planning to marry Merve Dibo, who stands at a comparatively small 1.73 metres.

The two have become engaged.

Kosen is happy to finally find someone to start his own family with, and to have a private life.

The giant is treated like a celebrity in Turkey. He has already invited a number of famous politicians to his nuptials in the country's southern city of Mardin.

He says, now he only wishes for a car big enough for him to drive around in with his bride.

Kosen suffers from pituitary gigantism, which causes the over-production of growth hormone. His condition is thought to have be caused by a tumour in his pituitary gland. His family members are said to be of a regular height.

While he has been teased of his height, Kosen claims that he is now "proud" to be as tall as he is.

Kosen also holds the Guinness World Record for the size of his 27.5cm hands and feet, which have been measured at 36.5cm.
