EFCC Invites Saraki’s Wife, Yar’Adua’s Daughter

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has invited the daughter of former president Umaru Yar’ Adua and wife of former Kebbi State Governor, Saidu Dakingari, Zaina Dakingari for questioning over alleged fraud to the tune of N2 billion.

The alleged crime was committed during her husband’s tenure as governor of the North-West state.

She wasn't the only one invited for questioning, also invited for alleged money laundering is Toyin Saraki, wife of the Senate President and former governor of Kwara state, Bukola Saraki.

A source at the anti corruption agency told Premium Times that Mrs Saraki was invited to explain the strange inflow of funds into companies where she has interest.

She is to report to the commission’s headquarters in Abuja on July 28, 2015, where she will have to answer to a special team of investigators assembled to grill her.

However, Mrs. Dakingari was expected to arrive today but the former Kebbi first lady reported to be away in Saudi for Umrah (lesser hajj), and pleaded to be allowed to report on ‎ July 27, 2015.

EFCC wants her to explain the source of the steady stream of huge cash into her companies, while she held sway as ‘first lady’ of Kebbi state.

When reporters contacted EFCC spokesman, Wilson Uwujaren for comments, he said: “I’m aware that a new set of suspects w‎ere recently invited. It’s not impossible the two women are among them.”
