16 Students In Court Over Illegal Possession Of Army Uniforms

The Delta State Police Command says it has commenced the prosecution of 16 students of the state’s university and polytechnic at various courts in the state for allegedly being in possession of army uniforms.

It was gathered that the students were arrested and paraded by military personnel attached to the 4th Brigade, Nigerian Army in Benin City, Edo State.

According to the Delta State police spokesman, Mr. Charles Muka, the students were handed over to the police by the soldiers for prosecution.

“They were arrested while operating as members of the Nigerian Army Cadet Force and Safety Corps of the Nigerian Cadet Team,” he said.

He gave the names of the suspects as Peter Ughinovbe, Ekpeni Freedom Mustapha Sulleiman,

Obiche Anthony, Nonye Abel, Akpotu James, Orji Chuks, Willie Ogheneovi, Samson Wisdom, Oshodin Gideon, Ohoshi Ifeanyi, Owugho Solomon, Isaac Ebikebume, Eta Solomon Isaac and Edokpolor Hans.

The police spokesman said 22 pairs of army uniforms, army berets, belts boots, anklets, hats, recruitment forms, army cadet certificates, army insignia and logo, pictures of suspects dressed in complete army uniforms and ID cards were recovered from the suspects.
