Olympics 2012: Okagbare Turns To Long Jump For Salvation

Beijing 2008 long jump bronze medalist Blessing Okagabre will refocus on the event that gave her and Nigeria a medal in the last Olympics.

The United States-based athlete joins others as the long jump events starts on Tuesday (today) at the main arena of the Olympic Park in Stratford, London.

It is the chance for the athlete the country’s contingent placed so much hope on picking a medal from the London Games.

The sprinter lost out in the 100m chase for medal when finished at the last position and complained bitterly about cramps. But she has since the sad outing of Saturday vowed to redeem the expectations with the jump.
