Oyerinde: Edo PDP Youths Demand Apology From Oshiomhole

BENIN - Youth wing of Edo State chapter of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has given a two-week ultimatum to Governor Adams Oshiomhole to tender unreserved apology to the former chairman, Board of Trustees of the party,  Chief Tony Anenih, and members of the party over his allegation that the leadership of PDP masterminded the killing of his private secretary, Mr. Olaitan Oyerinde.

In a statement in Benin, yesterday, Mr. Vincent Akhere, state youth leader of PDP, carpeted Edo State Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN, for its inability to provide adequate security for lives and property of residents, particularly, that of late Oyerinde, who he said was a senior official of the government in power in the state.

It will be recalled that the state government had, moments after the murder of Olaitan at his Ugbor residence in Benin, offered N20 million as reward for anyone, who could provide useful information that might lead to the arrest of perpetrators of the heinous crime.

Akhere insisted that with the confessional statements of six suspects arrested and paraded by State Security Services, SSS, operatives in Abuja, it was clear that “the cat had been let out of the bag.

“Consequently on behalf of PDP youths in Edo State, I am calling on Governor Oshiomhole to, within the next 14 days, tender an unreserved apology to Edo PDP and its leaders, failing which we shall legitimately seek legal redress.”
