In time past, several police officers caught soliciting for bribes on camera have been dismissed.

In August 2013, the Lagos State Police Command dismissed a police sergeant, Chris Omeleze, who was caught on video camera demanding a bribe of  N25,000 from a motoris.

Another police corporal, Aniyem Chiyem  was also dismissed in February 2014 for demanding dollars from a Nigerian-American.

Since then, it has become a norm for members of the public to record erring officers when seen engaging in unwholesome conduct.
