The Lagos State Taskforce on Environmental and Special Offences (Enforcement) Unit has arrested 52
commercial sex workers.
The ladies, whose ages are between 18 and 34 years, were picked up at different spots on Isaac John Street and Toyin Street in Ikeja by policemen attached to the unit between Wednesday night and Thursday morning.
The taskforce”s three-hour raid was in response to complaints by residents of both streets.
The taskforce Chairman, Bayo Sulaiman, a Superintendent of Police, confirmed the development, noting that they would soon be charged to court.
He said the taskforce would extend the raids to Victoria Island, Ikoyi and Lagos Island.
